Jersey Mike's traces its roots back to 1956, to a small submarine sandwich shop on the Jersey Shore boardwalk - one of the first of its kind in the country. It was a family-run operation built on personal service: the original owner knew regular customers by name, and every sandwich was prepared fresh, right in front of the customer.
In 1975, a 17-year-old named Peter bought the business, financed with help from his high school football coach. Under his ownership, the brand expanded steadily, always keeping the same made-to-order approach and the same Mike's Way recipe that customers had come to expect.
More than 65 years later, that recipe and that promise remain the foundation of every Jersey Mike's location - now more than 4,000 strong and growing, with the UK next on the list.
